Introduction
The all white surfaces of this interior and the use of symmetry has given the office a serene and sacred touch. The existing height ceiling finishes and lighting were retained but inserted within this volume are the folding planes of the sides and the soft curve of the single backdrop and integral plaster ceiling. This small facility consists of two portions to its plan: a collection counter and a working office at the rear of the backdrop wall.

THE CREATIVE PROCESS
Payment Office:
The all white surfaces of this interior and the use of symmetry has given the office a serene and sacred touch. The existing height ceiling finishes and lighting were retained but inserted within this volume are the folding planes of the sides and the soft curve of the single backdrop and integral plaster ceiling. This small facility consists of two portions to its plan: a collection counter and a working office at the rear of the backdrop wall.
Cafetaria:
On a funnel shaped plan and a curved ceiling space that lowered towards the far end of the kitchen, we created an interior that stood out for its symbiotic relationship with the existing structure of the shell. Three major ‘pyramids’ of steel lean out of the existing inclined columns to support the first row of brackets and lights. Guided by the notions of ‘crashing waves’ in the context of a seaport, we designed the ceiling to be a series of descending layers of waves finished in a local kasah veneer supported on mild steel brackets that terminated in a light fitting. The effect of this ceiling is spectacular, particularly at night.
